About the book...

Oogie is an adorable little bear cub who is obsessed with crackers and peanut butter.  It's his favourite snack of all time and every chance he gets he piles on the peanut butter and savours every last crumb.  Yum!  Life is good.

One day Oogie finds he is completely out of crackers.  His cravings for more lead him out on a blustery rainy day.  He heads to the local store to replenish his stock.  Unfortunately for him when he arrives at his destination the grocer informs him that there is no cracker delivery today because the baker did not make a delivery.  Oogie can't believe it.  He needs his P&C daily fix.   Did Oogie just give up and go back home sad and disheartened?  No way.  He gets going and is determined to get to the bottom of this inexcusable travesty.

He bundles up and off he goes back outside to the bakery.  Once inside the baker informs him she could not make anything because the supply truck didn't bring her any flour to do so.  This information just makes Oogie even more determined to uncover this mystery as to why he has no crackers to appease his gurgling, growling tummy.

Next stop...  the delivery truck driver who tells Oogie that his van has a flat tire.  The truck is all loaded and ready to zoom but it cannot go because of the flat.  With rumbling sounds escalating louder from his tummy and the relentless rain pelting down even harder, Oogie heads outside once again.  He presses on through these challenges to go and and pay a visit to the mechanic.  His goal is to see if he has the needed tire in stock and if the tire can be transported back to the lifeless van.

Oogie takes matters into his own paws and once the correct tire is located he, personally delivers it.  He corrects all the obstacles that are set before him and finally with everyone's co-operation gets his beloved crackers.

Using his creative problem-solving skills and brute determination Oogie saves the day!   What a wonderful story of perseverance and never giving up.

Every child can benefit from this positive message of working through problems and solving them all on their own.  I highly recommend this book.
