Title: The Moon Saw It All
Author: Nancy L. Young
Illustrator: Nadia Komorova
Visually this book is stunning. The artwork is beautiful, detailed and enchanting. The soft, hazy hues and tones radiate magic, making a perfect mood for a nighttime, animal soiree and an unforgettable bedtime story. The poetic tale weaves words of wonder and awe as the critters gather together to party under the watchful eye of the moon.
Differences are set aside and the diverse spectrum of animal characters let loose on the glittery, sandy, dance floor as they get down to the music of the ringtailed band. Creative dance steps, imaginative instruments and musical memories transpire as everyone attending finds their mojo and dances long into the night. With the breaking of dawn, the animals disperse, moving off into their regular life patterns once again. As the moon passes the light baton to the sun and disappears from the night sky, I am sure he is happy and smiling because he has indeed, seen it all! This is truly a gorgeous book, both from an aesthetic perspective and a literary one. A wonderful valued bonus for parents, teachers, and librarians is the inclusion of a curriculum guide which is very comprehensive and educational. A book you would be very proud to own and include in your "best book" collection.
