Kidjacked, a father's story-adult book review today

                                      Quote of the day!

"Wear the old coat and buy the new book."
                                                            ~ Austin Phelps

Title:  Kidjacked : A Father's Story

Author:  Scott Lesnick

This true memoir of a distraught, desperate and determined father to get his kids back from spousal abduction will tear at your heartstrings and leave you emotionally drained.  His journey is one of heartbreak and at times despair, but he succeeds against all odds to bring his kids back to America to live with him.  His message is one of faith and hope, compelling you to focus on your goal and never, ever give up.  The things that you cherish most in life are well worth the struggle and fight it takes to keep them close to your heart.  This excellent book displays a roller coaster of emotions but the very best emotion by far is the happiness that Scott feels when he has his two kids safely in his arms and they are all together, on the plane legally heading back home to the U.S.  It is a riveting tale that you cannot put down and the impact of the story will stay with you long after you have read the last page.

I had the privilege of interviewing Scott the last few days and here are the results:

Rapid Fire Questions:

1. What is your dream car?
    Porsche.

2. Do you prefer a sit down meal or a picnic?
Sit down for sure, but a few picnics a year are welcome!

3. Do you like to give a gift or receive one?
Give. Still working on graciously accepting gifts.

4. Are you life-handed or right-handed? (Sorry I was a teacher and like that question
     Right.

5. What is your favorite drink?
    Water, Natures perfect beverage!

Serious Stuff:

1. What was your favorite book to read as a child?
Where The Wild This Are by Maurice Sendak

2. Were you a "budding novelist" in primary school or discovered this talent later on in life?
Later in life.

3. How did you choose the title of the book?
Kidnapped was too harsh to wrap my brain around. I had a lot of titles that I tossed out. Then, I thought about high jacking of airplanes and combined kidnapped with high jacked and came up with Kidjacked.

4. Your experience was so painful, how hard was it recounting it in a book for others to read?
Very difficult at first, because I had to recount every possible detail to stay true to a memoir format. As time went, it became easier because I belived I had an interesting story with some unique twists that would entertain readers.
5. What advice would you give to others who may be experiencing a similar situation in their lives?
We’re all faced with tough challenges in our lives. My advice is to Never give up. Talk to as many people as you can and be open to their suggestions. Keep moving forward even if it’s an inch at a time. Eating and sleeping are a must!

6. What other authors do you like to read?
Robert Dugoni and Sarah Vowell.

7. Do you have another book in the works or bubbling around inside your brain crying to get out?
I’ve completed (but not edited) my second book titled Lifejacked-Not So Ordinary People Overcoming Extraordinary Circumstances. It’s a collection of interviews over 12 months. Each story is true and covers harsh realities including rape, false imprisonment for 25 years, loss of all four limbs to name a few. The beauty of each person’s layered story is how she/he was able to raise themselves from the depths of hell and not only find a way to survive, but thrive! It was truly inspiring and humbling for me.

8.  Anything else you would like to add about yourself to tell your readers?
With its constant twist and turns, Kidjacked will have you guessing until the end. I wrote the book to help others that may be going through a difficult period in their life. I humbled when readers offer their feedback, especially when I’ve helped them move forward. Signed copies are available on my website www.scottlesnick.com  It’s also available in ebooks.

9. Your bio states that you are a professional speaker.  What do you speak about?
I’m hired to speak at companies, associations and non-profits around North America. My topics range from keynote addresses to breakout secessions. I also consult. I’m often asked to share my Kidjacked story. I customize each presentation for my audience adding stress reducing techniques, motivation, inspiration to employees and management so that they can focus on what truly important and achieve what they want. I have 28 years and many top sales awards at a Berkshire Hathaway company, but my signature story is often what draws the interest of the meeting planner.

Scott, thank you so much for writing this book.  It truly is an inspiring story and I liked it very much.  I am sure your interview will give my readers a deeper insight into the life of an author and I thank you very much for your time and effort in completing these questions.  We look forward to your next book and hopefully I will be able to review it right here on this blog.

Book Review rating:     8  (Fantastic!)
